I ended up having Columbus Day off, so we decided to take an last minute camping trip. Not wanting to travel far, and not having reservations, we drove down to O’Neill Regional Park on Sunday morning. Luckily for us, there were plenty of spots to choose from. It was the perfect fall weather, with the colors of fall beginning to sprinkle over the camp grounds.
The temperature was just right as we arrived to set up camp.
Not quite what we are used to, but this would do for the night.
Tuggy helped his papa start the fire.
During part of our trip, I encouraged Tuggy to build a rock sculpture. Slowly he picked up rocks, stacking them carefully.
He is quite the artist. Lol.
The following day we set out to see what else the park had to offer. Luckily, the pups are allowed on one of the park’s trails.
We spent a few minutes in the nature center.
And we let Tuggy get the last of his sillies out at the playground before returning home.
We took on this camping trip not expecting much, and we were pleasantly surprised. The area is drier than I like, and the allergies were horrible here, but the campgrounds and trails were well maintained, they allow dogs, and the playground and nature center were awesome. We had a good time.
Here are some more pics from the trip:
