Now that Grammy Shirley is doing better, we thought it would be a good idea to visit Tutu Mama. Tutu thought that we we would enjoy visiting Marina Park in Ventura, and we couldn’t be happier that she made the suggestion. The park is beautiful.
As we arrived at the park, we noticed a bay with sailboats and kayakers. Loved it.
My favorite though, and Tuggy’s favorite, was this ship on the beach. They have a line that drops down and away from the ship, where you can hang from a rope and zipline down. So much fun! I wish we had something like this closer to home.
After spending some time on the ship, we enjoyed a nice walk on the beach towards the jetties. The weather was perfect for this.
This photo of Diesel’s paw prints in the sand make me smile.
I tried getting Wilson’s paw prints, but that little prancing boy doesn’t leave any pawprints in the sand. Lol.
After our walk, we enjoyed a few photos with the family.
We hung out a bit at Soter Point, where even Diesel enjoyed the sights. So pretty to see the kayakers and sailboats come and go.
We took a few more photos, and headed out for lunch. After lunch we drove up to Ojai for a bit, and headed back home. Wish we could do stuff like this more often… I am so grateful to have been able to spend time with Grammy Shirley and Tutu Mama. 🙂
We had come down to Newport Beach for an errand this afternoon and, since we had already made the drive down there, we decided to make a stop at the beach. I’d been wanting to take Tuggy to Crystal Cove for a while, and it was a great looking day at the coast. The beach was not too crowded and the temperature was perfect. The beauty and remoteness of this beach made for a very special afternoon at the beach.
A nice lady offered to take this picture:
It was really great to finally have a picture that I am in, lol.
Tuggy got to spend a lot of time building castles and looking for shells:
However, the most exciting thing happened while we spent some time near the rocks… a bobcat decided to make an appearance on the hills behind us. It was kind of hard to notice at first, but a few folks had focused their attention away from the beach and as I followed their lead, I noticed a bobcat that blended in nicely with the hillside.
It was a nice suprise to see the bobcat coming out of from the long grasses at the base of the hill and making his way up until he perched himself at the top for a few minutes before disappearing towards the parking lot.
It was quite a sight. Things like this make me sad that I don’t have a better camera because this would have been a perfect opportunity for a really great shot! Instead, I only had Papa’s phone on me so I just get a grainy little picture. Lol. Nonetheless, we had a really neat experience — and thats really what counts.
We went to Newport Beach to spend the afternoon with Grandma Teresa. It was a nice, hot day… great weather for the beach. Tuggy spent some time playing with Sophie in the sand and some time flying a kite with his pops. I saw them from a distance laying down in the sand, to get a good view of the kite. It was such an adorable moment, that I had to get a picture.
Sophie spent some time collecting shells with Grandma. Grandpa took a nap and relaxed under the umbrella. Uncle David joined us too. He tried to take Tuggy out to the water, but Tuggy wasn’t having it. I guess his wetsuit is just for show. Lol. He looks cute though, so that’s all that matters. 🙂
Every year we like to go to the beach when its grunion time. This time… the Wilson and the baby joined us for his first grunion run. The baby didnt mind it at all. He was cozy in his warm clothes and fuzzy blanket. Wilson, on the other hand. Hates the beach. And he hates the beach at night even worse!
Overall it was a good trip to the beach. 🙂
