We decided to make a quick visit and let our little buddy get acquainted with us. Tuggy didn’t bother him too much, which is great.
Of course, there were ducks, so that made it a little easier.
Our new boy got to play around on the grass, tried to eat leaves, and ruffed around with Tuggy… they are going to be good buddies.
And of course, I can never resist a good shot of my boy. He’s always super happy when there’s waterfalls.
There’s one thing this kid never gets enough of. Pizza!
On my way home today … too tired to even think of cooking, I stop by and pick up a pepperoni pizza at what a lotta. I come home to a boy that’s super stoked about pizza. Good choice, Mommy 🙂
He ate 3 slices.
Fatty? Or should we just call it a growth spurt? Lol.
But if you take one good look around, its clearly Christmas time!
One of my favorite things to do at Christmas time is drive around and check out the lights. On Christmas evening, after visiting Mama Cami in Long Beach, we decided to drive by a neighborhood in Fountain Valley where the word was, they had pretty neat light displays. Sometimes, spur of the moment kind of things don’t work out that great, especially with a toddler, but this definitely wasn’t one of those times. We stopped by the boy’s favorite place, 7-eleven to get coffee and hot chocolate. We were all bundled up and ready to go. Tuggy never leaves home without a hat or two, so he was well equipped for the cold night.
The neighborhood had tons of homes with awesome lights, music playing…. decorations everywhere. They had a house that had carolers, cotton candy, music, and even a bench to take photos with “Santa”. Now, usually I have my camera or my phone with me, but this time I had neither. I had to rely on using Papa’s phone and I just couldn’t get any shots to do experience any justice.
Something about lots of Christmas lights makes me all warm and fuzzy. 🙂
We went down to Samurai Sushi for Erika’s Birthday. Tuggy loves his miso soup and the “popcorn lobster” roll. It was a rainy day so, lucky for us, the place wasn’t packed like it normally is.
Tuggy got to spend some time with his buddy Paige.
Every year we go to Auntie Lola’s company Christmas Party at the Bingo Club. This year they had an an area with petting zoo animals, face painting, and a visit with Santa. We did not make it in time for the face painting, but Tuggy had lots of fun at the petting zoo.
He got to spend a few minutes with Santa. Again, he asked for “Cars 2”. He wasn’t shy at all… I’d say he is getting pretty darn good at this.
We came to visit Camila today. She stares at Tuggy intently and says “Oh… parece coete (firecracker)”. As he peacefully sleeps … I’m not quite sure what she means. Lol, I guess we can add that to the pile of Camilaisms I just don’t understand 🙂
And this time he is telling the truth. (Normally, “Mommy I’m sick” is his way of thinking of excuses to not go to bed).
So… my little baby had a tough time sleeping last night and this morning, we went to see the doctor as soon as we woke up. Tuggy was starting to lose his voice from the coughing and seemed to be in a lot of pain overnight. The poor guy’s voice sounded very raspy. As soon as we got to the room, I weighed him because I knew he would not allow the nurse to touch him. He weighs 36 lbs and 5 oz. Once the nurse came in, she tried to measure him, and we figure he measures “around” 38 and 1/2 inches…. he wouldn’t sit still for her! While we waited for the doctor, I calmed him down and we read books. When we got to talking, I asked him why his voice sounded like that. He raised his eyebrows exaggeratedly, and whispered, “I got animals in my mouth”. I asked him if he meant kind of like the “snakes in his tummy” … he said, “yes!”.
Apparently, his goal was to ask the doctor about the animals in his mouth, but when the nurse walked in, and administered a shot … he forgot all about it. He cried, and was very upset…. but now, several hours later he is doing much better!
