We had come down to Newport Beach for an errand this afternoon and, since we had already made the drive down there, we decided to make a stop at the beach. I’d been wanting to take Tuggy to Crystal Cove for a while, and it was a great looking day at the coast. The beach was not too crowded and the temperature was perfect. The beauty and remoteness of this beach made for a very special afternoon at the beach.
A nice lady offered to take this picture:
It was really great to finally have a picture that I am in, lol.
Tuggy got to spend a lot of time building castles and looking for shells:
However, the most exciting thing happened while we spent some time near the rocks… a bobcat decided to make an appearance on the hills behind us. It was kind of hard to notice at first, but a few folks had focused their attention away from the beach and as I followed their lead, I noticed a bobcat that blended in nicely with the hillside.
It was a nice suprise to see the bobcat coming out of from the long grasses at the base of the hill and making his way up until he perched himself at the top for a few minutes before disappearing towards the parking lot.
It was quite a sight. Things like this make me sad that I don’t have a better camera because this would have been a perfect opportunity for a really great shot! Instead, I only had Papa’s phone on me so I just get a grainy little picture. Lol. Nonetheless, we had a really neat experience — and thats really what counts.
