For Tuggy’s birthday his papa got us a season pass to Knotts Berry Farm and Soak City. All summer we had talked about going to Soak City but never made it out until today — the last day its open for the year. It was a fun time for Tuggy, but we didn’t get a lot of pictures because of the water. He looks purplish cause of the sunblock but he is all smiles.
He was afraid of the lazy river, and he held on tight to me as we made our way around. However, he really enjoyed the Gremmie Lagoon, which is the children’s area of the park.
Today Auntie Gaby called. After speaking to her for a few minutes, I put her on speaker so that Tuggy can talk to her too. Auntie Gaby asks, “What are you doing Tuggy?”
He says, “Uhhh, bouncing off the walls!”
Hey, at least he is honest.
We had come down to Newport Beach for an errand this afternoon and, since we had already made the drive down there, we decided to make a stop at the beach. I’d been wanting to take Tuggy to Crystal Cove for a while, and it was a great looking day at the coast. The beach was not too crowded and the temperature was perfect. The beauty and remoteness of this beach made for a very special afternoon at the beach.
A nice lady offered to take this picture:
It was really great to finally have a picture that I am in, lol.
Tuggy got to spend a lot of time building castles and looking for shells:
However, the most exciting thing happened while we spent some time near the rocks… a bobcat decided to make an appearance on the hills behind us. It was kind of hard to notice at first, but a few folks had focused their attention away from the beach and as I followed their lead, I noticed a bobcat that blended in nicely with the hillside.
It was a nice suprise to see the bobcat coming out of from the long grasses at the base of the hill and making his way up until he perched himself at the top for a few minutes before disappearing towards the parking lot.
It was quite a sight. Things like this make me sad that I don’t have a better camera because this would have been a perfect opportunity for a really great shot! Instead, I only had Papa’s phone on me so I just get a grainy little picture. Lol. Nonetheless, we had a really neat experience — and thats really what counts.
With not much to do and a nice hot day out, we decided to check out Céfiore for some frozen yogurt. This place is so clean, they have waffle cones, and they cut the fruit toppings into the tiniest bite size pieces… its easy to eat!
Tuggy really enjoyed it.
We spent the afternoon painting “butterflies”. For some reason everything colorful is a butterfly. Guess this is how you know he’s my mom’s grandson. 🙂
Today we went to for a late lunch to King’s Hawaiian Bakery & Restaurant in Torrance. We had planned on doing some sort of outdoor activity, but the weather wasn’t quite working out for us so we came here instead. When we finished our food, we came out to a nice surprise outside. A nice rainbow in the sky! Larry told Tuggy that there is gold at the end of the rainbow, so Tuggy insisted all night that we go find the gold. Lol. Funny guy!
There is something really happy about seeing a rainbow in the sky, which is good because lately my family has been affected with a series of really serious health issues. As simple as it may seem, seeing a rainbow was like a much needed breath of fresh air.
